FREE SPEECH AND ABORTION
I taught last fall at a career college in the GTA. It was a mixed experience I'll write about later in ways you might not suspect.But in mid December, during the staff 'Holiday' celebration, I observed a conversation taking place in one corner between a teacher and two students.
Okay, well it really wasn't a discussion. It was the leafy, hippie teacher prattling on to the two students about free speech in Canada. He waved his hands in the air and insisted Canada was a place where you could say anything you wanted at anytime unlike America where you could never critique your president.
He said if you wanted to in Canada, you could say anything you want about Harper who he insisted was one of the worst PM's we've ever had. He said you could say anything you want in Canada and there would be no consequences.
Then he changed his story saying that things had started to change in America because Bush was so evil people were taking more risks with their careers and lives and speaking out.
The neophyte teens smiled and nodded simplistically.
I walked away.
"Since the 1988 Supreme Court of Canada decision vindicating Morgentaler and decriminalizing all manner of abortion, a political chill descends whenever the subject is broached."

Here's a fact to help you get you started.
Since that decision, we have been killing unborn babies by surgical abortion at an alarmingly accelerating rate & have now reached well over 3 million murders by surgical abortion since then. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ We have put ourselves to sleep about these atrocities as you so ably quote about the "chill" that this legislation, or lack thereof, has placed on the subject.
Hitler would have been proud of our achievement. He only managed to kill about 1 million Jews & about 2 million Christians of all stripes & colors. I am appalled, disgusted & ashamed at this satanic achievement. I am now too disabled to organize picketing against abortionists in Ottawa & am limited to riding my electric scooter at the annual March for Life, writing the occasional little piece like this one (which by the way took me over an hour to compose and correct - used to be 15 to 20 miutes) as well as praying & fasting daily for deliverance from this demonic scourge.
