THEO CALDWELL: THE RIGHT WING AVI LEWIS

I'll have more to say about Sun News later...but wowza.

Theo Caldwell is everything I am not. A smug, rich, UCC educated caricature of a pundit who has not earned his views but inherited them through his lineage.

Is there something I am missing about this little right wing punk?

Everything nasty in the left that made me go right is in lil' Theo. He makes me root for the left.

That's not easy to do.

And you are what? A modest, poor, uneducated real pundit with earned (?) views despite having a bad lineage?
I can believe it!

Theo Caldwell? I like him just fine. I'm glad he makes no apologies.

What i dislike are 'tame' tories - those that almost always feel like they have to apoligise for their views all the time. They always have to be so eminently reasonable so as not to 'offend' some obscure group somewhere some how.

So the man is educated and wealthy and erudite, and your jealous. So what , good for him. Classic class warfare.
Rabble is calling you.

Jealous much? What's wrong with going to UCC? What's wrong with being educated? I'm sorry, but I refuse to buy into this phillistine mentality and aversion to being educated or being successful (AKA part of the elite). You think you can do a better job than him?

If you like Caldwell, fine. But don't ever use the term silk stocking socialist or the like again. Caldwell is not someone with well thought out views. Just a blue blood who adopted them from birth. An old school conservative who has never had to really experience the culture war or pay a price for his views.

Much like those on the left like Lewis who conservatives like to decry so much.

This is not a man who has "earned" his views like an Ezra Levant.

If Caldwell's brand of ham and cheese, which he lays on thick like he is auditioning for a show on American cable, is what you like...great! Just don't get upset when the Rabble or CBC or Toronto Star pundits say Sun TV is TV for dummies. In the case of Caldwell, they will be right.

He is an embarrassment.

The real dummies are those that believe socialism in any form works. When ever the government gets involved they make things worse. Theo is a little pompus but he is right about most of what he says and does not appoligize for it.

Just because you live something does not make you an expert on the cause. Just the effect.

Theo does not say anything that a million other bloggers and other conservative pundits would know to say.

What I wanted from Sun TV was an opportunity for new voices. Why not give people doing the ground work a shot. How about Kathy Shaidle...or Steve Janke? These are the people without whom there would be no Sun TV. Instead Sun TV is just anyone who has a column in the Sun...on TV.

Some are good and professional (David Aiken for example), others like Theo are just a cheese sandwich on mozzarella bread.

I can't even watch Caldwell for 10 minutes, and he has a two hour show? Maybe he's volunteering his time..

I don't much like Caldwell, but I don't see much difference between him and Don Martin, Jane Taber, or Evan Solomon. He may be overdoing it to make up for lost time ... still, I usually switch the channel on his show like the others I mentioned.

After watching Caldwell's commentary during tonight's election, I must do an about-face. Mea culpa, Caldwell is a hard asset.. I hope to see much more of him for a long time.

This guy shows that he has mental instability, the way he talks indicates to me that he has been brought up in an environment that has hate towards ordinary Canadian values of tolerance and decency. I think one of these days The Sun News network is going to regret why they hired this guy. Qubecor will realise that people are going to boycott the advertisers in SUN MEDIA, because the program is so vulgar.
